2013 Season Tickets Available Now!

The Off Broadway Theatre
is excited to announce our 2013 Season!

Season Tickets Available Now!

Doctor U

February 8th- March 16th

Travel through time and space with the Doctor and his companion, all the way to Utah 2013, as they battle the Doctor's arch-nemesis. For the first time in history, history could be history!

Peter and the Pirates

April 5th – May 11th

Enjoy an evening of sword fights, adventure, suspense and sidesplitting comedy as Peter and his friends travel to Ever Clever land. Along the way, they encounter the evil pirate Captain Crook, Indians, lost boys, and even a mermaid or two.

The Lone Texas Walker Ranger

June 7th – July 13th

Cheer on the heroes and boo the villains when the Lone Texas Walker Ranger and his faithful Indian guide, Toronto, fight to right the wrongs perpetuated in the old lawless west.

Eric Jensen’s Charlie’s Aunt

Aug. 16th – Sept.  13th

This classic British farce was funny enough as originally written, but Eric Jensen’s amped up version will leave you howling with laughter as a 19th century college nerd finally comes into his own. . .  in ladies’ dresses.

Dracula vs. The Wolfman

Sept. 27th – Nov. 2nd

When two newlyweds get lost in a Transylvanian forest, they take shelter at the nearest castle, where the caretaker, Dr. Acula, ("That's pronounced A-COLA") falls in love with the recent bride. But the situation turns 'hairy' when the groom fights back.

It's a Wondrous Life

Nov. 22nd – Dec. 28th

What would life be like without the OBT? Fortunately, we’ll never have to find out. But George Bailey will get a peek at Bedford Falls without him when he gets touched by an angel. Jimmy Stewart’s classic, this ain’t—but, lucky for us, it’s much funnier.

Upcoming Shows, Descriptions, and Two for One Offer!

Y-light
September 28 – October 29

Back by popular demand, this OBT witty satire explores life for BYU vampires and their arch enemies the Ute werewolves at the U. Poor Ella has moved to American Forks and is caught up in a love triangle, until the original vampire, Count Dracula, arrives on the scene and wants Ella for his own. This musical parody will leave you rolling in the aisles!

Story by Eric Jensen
Directed by Kylee Bird
Choreography by Sunny Simkins

A word from the Director:
It has everything you loved from the play the first time around updated to include all four books. It’s Y-light 2.0! Tons of laughs, great music, and the one must-have for every theatre lover, teen romance and sparkly flesh!!
-Kylee

Some deep thoughts from Count Dracula:
I first read the Twilight book fully expecting a tale of horror, gothic death, and blood… My first response was “Vat de crap is dis?!” It was like reading Tiger Beat and The New Era mixed into one. This is an insult to vampirism EVERYWHERE! I cannot let this drivel continue! I will enter this book, rewrite it, & make Count Dracula the evil super villain he was born and bred to be!
Next up..... The Hunger Games, and baby, I’m hungry!!!
-Count Dracula

Off White Christmas
November 23 – December 28
This OBT production satires the Bing Crosby/Danny Kaye musical White Christmas, but ours is just a little "Off”. Two army vets do everything in their power--including cross-dressing--to get out of some sticky predicaments, singing and dancing their way to fame and fortune. There may even be a Christmas miracle or two. A brand-new, fun-filled comedy that’s sure to become an OBT classic.

A word from the Writer/Director:
When writing a witty satire of a show seen by millions, the difficult task is to not only parody the most important and best liked portions of that film, but to do it in a comical, fresh, and innovative way. However, the most fun part of writing a parody is the original pieces you get to introduce in a new light to the audience. We’ve done that in spades in this production! We also introduce two new villainous German characters, who are sure to steal the show, Baron Friedrich Von Richton, and Sergeant Rolph. These two hilariously push the action forward and will ultimately become the Abbott and Costelloof Deutschland! Add some Off White Christmas tickets to your list this season.

Never a Dull Moment

I have been working here at the Off Broadway Theatre since December now and I have to say there is never a dull moment! What a great place to encounter solace, good people to relate to, and work with. The OBT is a non-profit organization and so, most of the faces you see here are volunteering their time. It amazes me that so many people can care so much about an organization that they work so hard and for nothing but the satisfaction of being here interacting with the crowds and creating a fun environment for our patrons.

What kind of experience have you had here at the OBT?
