Transmorfers
August 5th - September 10th
Transmorfers: Mormon Meets the Eye. Do you like great action adventure? How about trans-morphing robots? Well, what about evil, villainous robots that want to take over the earth? Wait a second, forget about that last one. In this amazing parody of the ever-so-popular Michael Bay films, Stan and his Auto-bot friends Buzzer bee and Optimal-prime help protect him from the evil clutches of Meglatron, the humongous robot of cold steel and nefarious intentions. While this may seem like fun for only the kids, we guarantee parents and grandparents will love the hilarious story and the clever jokes scattered throughout. An absolute must-see for the last days of summer.

Pirates of Penzance or The Slave of Duty
NEWS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Pirates of Penzance at The Off Broadway Theatre
SALT LAKE CITY, May 27, 2016—The Off Broadway Theatre (OBT) proudly presents, Pirates of Penzance, the hysterical tale of tender-hearted pirates, cowardly policemen, unrequited love and hilarious misunderstandings, showing June 17–July 23.
Gilbert and Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance, or The Slave of Duty, is one of the best-known and most entertaining comedic operettas to date. It is the tale of Frederic, who is mistakenly indentured, by his nursemaid, Ruth, to a band of kind-hearted pirates until he turns 21 years of age, which—due to his leap-year birthday—will not occur for another 63 years. Watch as Ruth pines for Frederic’s affection as he falls in love with the enemy’s fair ward, Mabel. Laugh as empathetic, orphaned pirates are forced to take revenge in the midst of faint-hearted policemen. It’s a hilarious adventure for the entire family.
Starring Jason Wadsworth as the Major General and Samantha Wursten as Mabel. Directed by Sunny Bringhurst. Musically directed by Debby Cannon.
Pirates of Penzance will show Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays, June 17–July 23 at 7:30 p.m. with one Saturday matinee at 2 p.m. (date TBA on www.theobt.org). Tickets are $16 for adults, $12 for seniors and students, $10 for children 12 years and under. For ticket reservations, call the OBT box office at 801-355-4628 or purchase online at www.theOBT.org.
The Off Broadway Theatre—celebrating 22 years of comedy, musicals and original parodies—is Salt Lake’s downtown hot spot for comedy. Since 1994, OBT has presented famous comedies, musicals and plays, such as Noises Off, Little Shop of Horrors, See How They Run and more. OBT is the home of Utah’s longest-running, most popular improv comedy show, Laughing Stock, which runs every Friday and Saturday at 10:00 p.m.

Ivanhoe Knight Fever
directed by Eric R. Jensen
Show Run Dates: April 29, 2016 through June 4, 2016
Ivanhoe, one of King Arthur's lesser-known knights, has returned from battle to marry his true love. But Normans have invaded and threatened to pillage and plunder and to abscond with the females of the land. If Ivanhoe can humiliate the Norman knights by defeating them at a jousting tournament, they'll leave peacefully... or will they? This fantastically funny parody features great action, adventure, and plenty of medieval disco musical numbers.
